CNE

Toronto Waterfront between Bathurst and Dufferin streets.

The CNE began as the Toronto Industrial Exhibition in 1879 as a way of promoting industry and agriculture in Canada. It’s name was changed to the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in 1912. The pandemic closed down the CNE in 2020 - 2021. It was only the second time the fair was cancelled since it began. The first, was during the years of 1942 and 1946 when grounds were used for the armed forces during WWII.
